Czech Highlands
Czech Highlands is a geomorphological province of the Hercynian system, covering most of the Czech territory (except for the Carpathian southeast), with extensions into neighboring countries - in Germany as Östliche Mittelgebirge (German parts of the Krušné and Šumava subprovinces), in Austria as Granite-Gneiss Highlands (Austrian part of the Šumava subprovince), and in Poland as the Sudetes. It consists of geologically old, erosion-smoothed mountains, whose highest parts form a natural border of Bohemia. The highest peak is Sněžka (1603 m).
