About Vrcholovka
Vrcholovka started at the beginning of 2018, when I wanted to track visited peaks and none of the existing tools really worked for me. Over time it grew, and besides logging hikes it now shows complete peak info (weather, webcams, ...), mountain chalet info (dogs allowed, refreshments, ...), lets you join all kinds of challenges, log full GPX trips, and much more:
- Mountain journalLog your peak visit. You can attach a comment or photo and keep track of where you have been.
- Custom peak listsCreate your own peak lists - for example peaks you plan to visit.
- GPX tripsLogging peaks one by one can be a pain. Just upload a route from Strava or a GPX file and Vrcholovka will automatically detect which peaks you visited and when.
- ChallengesLove competition and comparison? Then challenges are ready for you - visit all thousanders in Czech mountain ranges or complete the Zverinec challenge.
- BadgesComplete a personal challenge and get a virtual badge on your profile as a reward!
- Private and public activitiesNot everyone likes sharing photos and info publicly, so you can set activity visibility to private, friends only, or public.
- Maps and statisticsFor each year, you get a clear overview of your peaks. You can also view everything on a map.
- Peak detailsNo need to overthink it - useful core info for each peak: weather, current snow conditions, ...
- Comments and likesLiked someone's summit? Mark it with a like or leave a comment!
- QuizzesTest your knowledge in knowledge quizzes about mountains!
About me
Pavel
My parents tried to build my love for mountains from early childhood, but I did not really get it then. I found my own way to mountains only in adulthood. I like having things organized, and because no existing solution fit me, a few years ago I combined my hobbies - mountains and computers - and created Vrcholovka.cz.
You can message me on Facebook fb.me/vrcholovka.cz, by email [email protected], or through the contact form.
Martin
Martin is behind projects Ultratisicovky and Ultrakopce. On Vrcholovka he created (and still creates) many other local challenges. He mainly handles peak approvals and has huge knowledge of geomorphological classification, especially in the Czech Republic.
