Čihadlo is part of challenge: Highest Peaks of Prague
The highest peak of Prague.
The highest secondary peak is Kopanina (392 m, prominence 6 m).
The highest point is Teleček (399 m, prominence 0 m).
At the summit, there are remnants of the former 11th anti-aircraft missile unit of the 71st anti-aircraft missile brigade protecting the capital city of Prague from the 1970s. While the rear part (former barracks and dining hall) west of the summit currently serves as a training facility for the University of Economics in Prague, the firing part of the base with hardened structures (bunkers) located directly at the summit is operated as an airsoft field by Airsoft Praha (the land is leased from the Prague 12 municipality). Therefore, the summit of Čihadlo is inaccessible to the public during airsoft games (usually every Saturday).
On the western part of the hill is the northern part of the Šance nature reserve, whose main part extends over the adjacent hill of the same name. The nature reserve is part of the European significant area of Břežanské údolí, which, alongside the Šance PR, also includes the hill of Hradiště. The Šance PR is part of the Modřanská rokle - Cholupice nature park, which is the largest and most significant protected area.
The summit is currently located on the roof of the command hardened position (bunker) of the 11th anti-aircraft missile unit, thus on a structure built by soldiers. On maps 1:5000 older than 1970 (i.e., before the construction of the military base), Čihadlo is marked as 385.7 m above sea level, and in the geographical lexicon by Demek and Mackovčin, it is listed with elevations "386.2 m ZM10, 385.3 m VOJ25". In any case, it is the highest peak of Prague.
