A rocky peak covered with fir forest (744 m a.s.l.) in the Pieninki ridge, between the Burzana saddle (approx. 720 m) and Kurnikówka (694 m). The blue tourist trail Sokola Perć runs through it. From the south, a rocky ridge with steep 20-meter high walls descends to the bottom of the Pieniński Potok valley, which transitions into a steep slope below. To the north, a side ridge rises from the main ridge, ending at the Dunajec River with the peak Zimna Skała, marked on maps as Zimna Skałka or (incorrectly) Ociemne (612 m). Below the northern slopes of Ociemny Wierch, between this ridge and the Koszarki ridge, lies a valley called Ociemne. In this valley, the longest and most interesting cave in the Polish Pieniny, named Jaskinia w Ociemne, was discovered in 1976. Its location is usually not marked on maps. On the southern slopes of Ociemny Wierch, there is a smaller cave called Walusiowa Jama.
