In 1600, the plague ravaged the settlement of Světice (now part of Bystřany), where only two of the 14 inhabitants survived. They then buried the dead in what became known as the 'Plague Cemetery'. This cemetery was located on an elevated hill between Světice and Pytlík. The hill later came to be called Plague Hill.
