At the summit stands a protected sacred building, constructed by the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV from 1861 to 1864, with the complete finishing of the structure occurring after the dominant tower was built in 1885. It is a three-nave neo-Romanesque basilica, designed by architect August Stüller. The tower follows the plans of Ludwig Persius. Next to the church is a Jewish cemetery, which has been closed for a long time and is possibly under reconstruction.
