Písečný vrch is a pleasant stop in nature if you visit Teplice. It is a hill with a sandstone base that used to be an island in the Cretaceous sea about 100 million years ago. As a result, fossils of bivalves have been found here. Geologically, it is an interesting location. For casual hikers, the hill is particularly appealing due to a small grassy clearing with a pond where you can rest, have a snack, and continue your journey. For those interested in astronomy, the Teplice Observatory is located on the northern hill, offering interesting programs for the public on weekends, especially solar observations on clear days.
