Schreckhorn is part of challenges: 48 Swiss 4000ers, Alpine Four-thousanders

A steep and difficult-to-access peak, about 10 km southeast of Grindelwald, the northernmost four-thousander in the Alps. The summit can be reached from Schreckhornhütte (2530 m a.s.l.) and Glecksteinhütte (2317 m a.s.l.). The mountain is surrounded by the Oberer Grindelwaldgletscher and Unterer Grindelwaldgletscher.
The first ascent was made on August 16, 1861, by Leslie Stephen, Christian Michel, Peter Michel, and Ulrich Kaufmann.
