Zuckerhütl, at 3,507 meters, is the highest peak of the Stubai Alps, located in the Austrian state of Tyrol and partially in Italy. Zuckerhütl lies on the main ridge in the western part of the range, on the border between Austria and Italy. The Stubai Alps are part of the Eastern Alps. The name Zuckerhütl – translated as Sugar Hat – comes from its charming shape, visible from the entrance to the Stubaital valley.

Season update 2026:
6/2026 A rockslide has destroyed the access climbing path. There is a high risk of further slides and falling rocks. The ascent is now more challenging. We used the direct route up the gully, where we left a sling with a carabiner for rappelling at the worst spot. Due to the high risk, no one is currently going here; we have trampled a path.
