The ruins of the originally royal Gothic castle Krupka on the summit of a promontory from the early 14th century. The castle, founded by Václav II, served as a guard fortress to protect the tin mines and the trade route to Saxony. (According to other sources, it was built by John of Luxembourg in 1320.) Captured by the Hussites either during the famous ride in 1429 or by commander Jakoubek of Vřesovice four years later. At the end of the 17th century, the Šternberks built an official residence here (also known as the Mountain Castle), which now serves as a hotel with a restaurant. The name Rosenburg (Rose Castle) became established in the 19th century due to the roses, of which over a hundred species grew in the gentleman's garden.
