The highest peak of the western Krkonoš, the fourth highest peak of the Krkonoš and all of Czechia, and the second most prominent peak of the Krkonoš. In the past, it was also called Krkonoš, in Polish it is named Wielki Szyszak (Great Shishak) and in German Grosse Sturmhaube or Hohes Rad.
The summit is located in a quiet area of the Krkonoš National Park, 160 m from the red ridge trail, and is crowned by a stone cairn built in the 1880s in memory of the first German Emperor Wilhelm I.
