The Canary Islands are not just about beaches and the ocean. Each island has its own mountain, its own character, and its own story born from fire. This mountain challenge invites you to explore the Canaries from a completely different perspective – from the summits of their highest peaks.

The goal of the challenge is to summit the highest mountain of each Canary Island. Each ascent represents a different type of terrain: volcanic cones, lava fields, mountain trails, and desolate high-altitude plateaus above the clouds.

For those who want to go even further, there is an optional bonus:
an ascent of the second most prominent peak of each island.
Prominence here ensures that it is not just about the “second highest mountain,” but a truly distinctive and independent peak with its own character and often a completely different route and views.

The reward is a view of the Canary Islands from places that most visitors will never reach – the endless ocean beneath your feet, a sea of clouds, the silence of the volcanic landscape, and the feeling that each island has its peak worth discovering.

Note:
On the island of Lanzarote, the highest peak Peñas del Chache has a military radar. Here, the highest accessible point is sufficient.
