The first peak in the main ridge of the Jeseníky Mountains from the south (i.e., from the Skřítek saddle). In maps, the peak Pec (1311 m a.s.l.) is indicated further south, which is merely a forepeak of Pecny. At the summit, there is a prominent schist rock with a nice view of the Šumperk region. A green hiking trail leads around the summit from Skřítek through Ztracené kameny to Jelení studánka. Pecny begins the plateau of the Hrubý Jeseník ridge, covered with grassland, which stretches almost uninterrupted to the area of Praděd.
