A massive, sprawling peak in the central Šumava, the highest point in the Plzeň Region. After bark beetle and wind calamities, it is devoid of forest. The summit is not located in the I. zone. The best access is from Luzný along the ridge, or from Březník, which is slightly more challenging in terms of orientation.
The name of the mountain (both Czech and German - Moorberg) is derived from the wet slopes that on the Czech side lead to Hraniční slatě and subsequently to the Luzenský stream, and on the Bavarian side to the Velký černý and Malý černý streams.
