The castle hill is a significant geological site, where coal layers reach the surface. It was already inhabited in the Lower Paleolithic by mammoth hunters. At the turn of the 8th and 9th centuries, the Holasic tribe probably lived here. In the mid-13th century, a Gothic castle was built on the site of the hillfort, serving as a border fortress. It was the property of the Opava princes, to whom it belonged until 1385. At that time, it was acquired by the Kozelská princes. The castle disappeared during the Czech-Hungarian Wars in the 1560s. In 1517, the already demolished castle became the property of Bernard of Zvole. The extensive ruins of the castle were preserved until the beginning of the 19th century, when they were dismantled for construction in Koblov and Petřkovice. There is a wooden lookout tower on the hill, which stands on the edge of a steep rocky slope. It is 7 meters high and offers a view of nearby Ostrava and the more distant Beskydy Mountains.
