Lanischeck is a 3024-meter high peak located in the Hohe Tauern and the Ankogel mountain range. The summit is situated 0.9 km northwest of the Großer Sonnblick peak. The nearest mountain hut is Kattowitzer Hütte, which is located 2 km to the west. A bit further away is the Albert-Biwak bivouac. South of the summit lies the Maltatal valley.
