Radyně is part of challenges: Crown of Regions and Districts, Geological Crown of the Czech Republic, Most Isolated, Nejhory Švihovské
The highest Czech quartzite mountain. Quartzite is a sedimentary siliceous rock formed in a deep sea 550–500 million years ago (Precambrian). The hard silicates were uplifted during the Variscan orogeny and, due to their resistance, survived erosion as a prominent ridge with typical black rock outcrops.
At the summit stands the ruins of Radyně Castle, founded by Charles IV. On top of the castle tower, there is an observation platform offering a fantastic panoramic view.
