Skopiec is part of challenge: Crown of Mountains Poland
Part of the official Crown of Poland as the highest peak of the Kaczawskie Mountains, with an elevation of 719 m. In fact, several Kaczawskie Mountains are higher:
- Baraniec (720 m), about 300 m to the south, separated by a shallow saddle
- Folwarczna (722 m), just under a kilometer to the west
- Okole (725 m), 5.5 km to the northwest, the true highest peak of the Kaczawskie Mountains
According to newer sources, Skopiec is also higher than the originally stated 719 m, which is the height of the geodetic point. Polish Wikipedia states 721 m (which would surpass Baraniec) and OSM / Mapy.cz (as well as the summit sign) even lists 724 m, which would surpass Folwarczna as well. However, Okole would still remain the highest peak of the Kaczawskie Mountains.
