    Moravian Gate is a lowland between Ostrava and Přerov, separating the Jeseníky and Carpathians. The northern part is traversed by the Odra River and the southern part by the Bečva River. In ancient times, it was part of the Amber Road and remains an important communication route today. The highest point (382 m) is located north of Lipník nad Bečvou, on the slope of Obírka, which lies in the Low Jeseník. The highest peak is Zábřeh (344 m) north of Hranice, just one meter higher than Stráže (343 m) near Bělotín, which is the most prominent peak.
