About chalet Bivacco Mamo Comotti

The bivouac, officially opened in the summer of 2015, was built by friends of Massimo Comotti, known as Mamo, in his memory. Mamo was an architect from Milan, in love with the mountains and especially with Monte Rosa. He died at the age of 44, struck by an avalanche on December 31, 2009, under the Rothorn Pass (Gressoney).
The bivouac is located in the heart of the southern side of Monte Rosa, on the ridge "Naso del Lyskamm", in a gentle hollow protected from the winds.
It is equipped with a photovoltaic system for indoor lighting and outdoor signal lights. A small kitchen is powered by gas.
