It is located at an altitude of 3345 m near Colle del Breuil, at the foot of the Furggen ridge, and serves as a starting point for ascents of the Matterhorn via the most difficult ridge, Furggengrat.
The bivouac is of the half-type with 9 beds and is equipped with mattresses, blankets, pots, and dishes. Access is 4 hours from Cervinia.
