About chalet Finsteraarhornhütte

Finsteraarhornhütte is located at an altitude of 3048 meters above sea level at the foot of the highest peak of the Bernese Alps, Finsteraarhorn (4274 meters above sea level). It is set in a unique high mountain landscape surrounded by impressive mountain peaks and glaciers.
Capacity of 106 places, winter hut with 10 beds with down blankets. Cooking on wood is possible. Kitchen and dining utensils are available, no water in the immediate vicinity of the hut, water obtained by melting snow, no mobile phone reception. Emergency phone available. Prior phone contact with the hut warden is recommended.
Access routes:
All access routes to Finsteraarhornhütte are long and lead over glaciers.
Jungfraujoch - Jungfraufirn - Grüneggfirn - Grünhornlücke - Finsteraarhornhütte
Winter: 3-4 hours
Summer: 6 - 7 hours (in the opposite direction 7 - 8 hours)
Eggishorn or Fiescheralp (cable car) - Aletsch Glacier - Konkordiaplatz - Grünhornlücke - Finsteraarhornhütte
Winter: 7 ½ hours from Eggishorn / 8 hours from Fiescheralp-Märjela (tunnel)
Summer: 8 hours from Fiescheralp-Märjela (tunnel)
From Berghaus Oberaar
Winter: not recommended (alternative if Grimselpass road is open)
Summer: 7 - 8 hours (in the opposite direction 6 - 7 hours)
From Oberaarjochhütte
Winter: 2 ½ - 3 hours
Summer: 3 - 3 ½ hours
