The heap is accessible, but unlike Ema, it is still "in operation". Occasionally, you will encounter heavy machinery, excavators, loaders, and there are probably a hundred "smokers" here, which people come to Ema to see as an attraction. If you can't stand sulfur fumes, it's better not to go there.

New signs prohibiting entry have appeared, and the "smokers" have significantly intensified and are not just sulfurous. The heap is smoldering towards the landfill, and they are trying to limit it by excavating in the eastern corner, the only somewhat usable entry point. Watch out for deep pits around the "heel" from the southeast, which are probably used for sampling groundwater.
