In the Middle Ages, a defensive tower from the late 13th century. Then, until 1954, the tower was permanently used as the home of the mining manager in the adjacent salt mine. Today, it is a restaurant with an impressive view of Lake Hallstatt. A cable car, hiking trails, and cycling paths lead up. There was also a beautiful via ferrata "Echerntalwand", which was closed on August 21, 2018, due to a forest fire.
