The northern part of the island of Tenerife, specifically the Anaga mountain range, has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve since July 2015. This is good for nature conservation, but when entering certain areas, it is necessary to obtain a permit. This also applies to the northernmost ridge of Anaga. The daily number of permits is significantly limited, so it is advisable to use the online application at least a month before the planned trip.
