The ruins of Gomarn Castle near Bad Sankt Leonhard rise on a hill, looking back into a long history. First mentioned in 1278, it once served as the administrative seat of the Bamberg diocese and benefited from rich ore deposits in the area. Despite several fires, the last in 1808, the impressive remains of 15th-century walls still testify to its medieval glory. The extensive courtyard is now used for events and invites exploration of the historical site.
