Monte Scorluzzino, at 3000 meters above sea level and situated above the Stelvio Pass, is rich in history, particularly related to World War I. Captured by the Austro-Hungarian army in 1915, it hosted a rock-hewn shelter for three winters, which was subsequently abandoned for a century and recently reconstructed thanks to the work of volunteers. A fascinating place that bears witness to the hardships of life on the front in high mountain terrain.
