The first stones on Ivančena were laid by scouts from the 30th troop of Junák in Ostrava on October 6, 1946. In the following years, more and more stones were added, not only by scouts but also by other people from across the country. The original motivation for establishing the mound was to honor the memory of five scouts executed at the end of the war for their resistance activities; however, over time, the paths and the laying of stones on Ivančena became a symbol of resistance against any form of oppression.
