A hill in the middle of the crystal-clear Fernsteinsee lake. At the top, there is the ruin of an unfinished castle, later a hunting lodge called Sigmundsburg. Allegedly originally built as a gesture of love, later serving as a refuge from the plague and the Turks. Its location allowed for a good view of the surrounding path leading through the Fernpass pass, which was once even an old Roman road, where the Fernstein Castle, originally a customs house, is located. A historically very interesting place, today the nearby hotel can be used as a starting point for conquering the surrounding peaks.
