Hintere Schwärze (Italian: Cima Nera, 3624 m) is the fourth highest mountain in the Ötztal Alps and the sixth highest in Austria. It lies on the Schnalskamm mountain ridge directly on the state border between the Austrian federal state of Tyrol and the Italian province of South Tyrol. Hintere Schwärze is almost entirely covered by a glacier.

The first ascent of Hintere Schwärze was achieved on September 10, 1867, by Ernst Pfeiffer, Benedict Klotz, and Josef Scheiber via the western ridge.

Hintere Schwärze can be climbed as a high-altitude hike with appropriate equipment and knowledge, only partially over a glacier strewn with crevasses. The starting point for the ascent is the Martin-Busch-Hütte mountain hut (2501 m, located at the far end of the Niedertal valley, usually open from late June to late September and from early March to mid-May, with 49 beds, 72 mattresses, 40 emergency mattresses, and 15 mattresses in the winter refuge). The normal route to the summit is a glacier ascent from the western side.
