Gilman's Point, located at an altitude of 5681 m on the edge of the Kibo crater, is one of the three key points on the way to the summit of Kilimanjaro, alongside Stella Point and Uhuru Peak. This spot marks the end of the scree slopes of Kibo and the beginning of the trail along the crater rim leading to the summit. Gilman's Point is accessible via the Marangu, Rongai, and Northern Circuit routes. From here, the path to the main summit of Kilimanjaro becomes less challenging, as dawn breaks and impressive views of the vast open Kibo crater are revealed.
