In Slovak, Čierny vrch, marked in the terrain as Czyrniec. In the past, this area was part of the nearly thousand-year-long Slovak-Polish or Hungarian-Galician border, when on June 28, 1920, the territory was annexed by the Poles and Czechoslovakia had to cede 27 northern Slovak municipalities to Poland. Today, you can still find fallen boundary stones along the hiking trail, which were reinstalled during the Slovak State from 1939 to 1945.
