Gran Paradiso is the highest peak (4061 m) of the Graian Alps located in Italy in the regions of Valle d'Aosta and Piemonte. The Czech name Gran Paradiso means Great Paradise and refers not only to a single peak but also to the entire area of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The summit is surrounded by three glaciers (Tribolazzione, Laveciau, and Gran Paradiso). Ascents via the classic routes are high-altitude hikes. The peak is among the most accessible four-thousanders in the Alps.

Although the mountain is considered one of the easiest four-thousanders (rightfully so), the ascent to this true main summit (without the Madonna) is not for complete beginners - I would estimate the classification at only I+ according to UIAA, but on snow-covered rocks in crampons, it is not exactly pleasant, especially when one is being pushed at the key point above the 450m high eastern wall. Otherwise, of course, a magnificent summit, with good visibility one can admire most of the significant peaks of the Alps. /note: Thunderstorm/
