Ankogel is a mountain in the Hohe Tauern range in Austria. It lies on the border of the federal states of Salzburg and Carinthia. Although it is not the highest peak of the Ankogelgruppe (Hochalmspitze - 3360 m), it gave the group its name. A cable car runs from Mallnitz to an altitude of 2630 m. From the summit, there is an extensive view, for example, of Grossglockner, the Ennstal Alps, the Karawanks, and even the Dolomites.
