Skrzyczne, at an elevation of 1,257 m (4,127 ft), is the highest mountain in the Silesian Beskids. It lies in a side ridge of the Barania Góra range. The mountain is characterized by its shape and a telecommunications transmitter, making it easily recognizable. It is one of the peaks of the Crown of Polish Mountains.
At the summit, there is a PTTK chalet built in 1933 and renovated in 1950 and 1998. Skrzyczne is accessible via several marked hiking trails and a two-seat chairlift from Szczyrk, constructed between 1958 and 1959. The lift is divided into two sections: Szczyrk - Hala Jaworzyna and Hala Jaworzyna - Skrzyczne. The slopes of the mountain also feature many ski runs of varying difficulty.
Since the late 1990s, there has been an 87-meter transmitter at the summit. The transmitter is visible from some higher hills in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, allowing reception of Polish television.
