    Taurus is a long and rugged range of alpine mountains in southern Turkey, stretching along the Mediterranean coast. To the north, it borders the Anatolian Plateau, to the northeast with the Armenian Highlands, and to the southeast with the Zagros Mountains. The predominantly limestone range features extensive karst areas with underground rivers, waterfalls, and the largest cave system in Asia. It is divided into Western, Central, and Eastern (also Armenian) sections. The island of Cyprus is its southern extension. The highest peak is Uludoruk (4136 m) in the southeastern tip of Turkey.
