Rocky Mountains
Rocky Mountains (also known as Rockies) is a mountain range in the northwest of America. It forms the eastern part of the Cordilleran mountain system and stretches 4500 km across Canada and the USA. With snow-capped peaks, glaciers, alpine meadows, coniferous forests, and numerous lakes, it resembles the Alps more than any other North American mountains. The highest peak is Mount Elbert (4401 m) in Colorado.
