Longs Peak is a mountain summit in northern Colorado, in the United States. The mountain is located in the northern part of the Front Range, in the southern Rocky Mountains, approximately 70 km northwest of Denver. It is situated within Rocky Mountain National Park. Longs Peak is the third highest peak in the Front Range, the thirteenth highest peak in the Rocky Mountains, the twenty-eighth highest peak in the United States, and the forty-second highest peak in North America.
The classic route ascends via the Keyhole and is physically quite demanding - partly due to the high altitude. The final section before the summit requires climbing on sloping rock slabs.
