The Bavarian Pre-Alps form an extensive landscape between the Danube and the northern edge of the Alps. At first glance, it appears as a gently rolling area of lakes, forests, and pastures, but in reality, it hides a number of prominent peaks that rise high above the surrounding landscape, offering unique views of the entire Northern Alps. A characteristic feature of the area is the glacial lakes, moraine hills, and solitary mountains, which stand out due to their isolated position and remarkable prominence.

It is precisely the distinct independence of the individual peaks that makes the Bavarian Pre-Alps an attractive destination for tourists and lovers of panoramic views. On clear days, from many peaks, one can see alpine summits dozens of kilometers away, from the Allgäu Alps through Karwendel to the Berchtesgaden Alps. Unlike high mountain areas, you will mostly not find technically demanding ascents or glaciers here, but rather pleasant hiking trails through forests, alpine meadows, and scenic ridges.

The challenge King of the Bavarian Pre-Alps will take you to the most significant and prominent peaks of this landscape. Each of them represents a unique viewpoint and an important landmark of its surroundings.

Peak characteristics in the challenge:

- elevation above 1500m
- prominence above 400m
- there is a trail leading to it, including unmarked paths or via ferrata
- ascent is not prohibited
