Join the challenge "King of the Mountains of the Salzkammergut" and conquer the mountain ridges above the lakes in the picturesque Salzkammergutberge region, which spans across three federal states – Upper Austria, Salzburg, and Styria. The area is full of lakes surrounded by deep forests, over which rise majestic rocky peaks. Due to its beauty, several spa towns have emerged here. The highest peak is Gamsfeld (2,027 m) with a prominence of 1,070 m, but two other peaks surpass it in prominence: Schafberg (1,783 m) with a prominence of 1,178 m and the summit Grosser Hollkogel (1,862 m) with an impressive prominence of 1,300 m.

Peak characteristics in the challenge:
- elevation above 1,600 m (the exception is Schwarzer Berg at 1,584 m, but with its prominence of 719 m, it deserves to be on this list)
- prominence above 300 m (the exception is Taborberg, which has a prominence of 295 m)
- there is a route leading to it, including unmarked paths or via ferrata
- ascent is not prohibited
