About chalet Refugio de Altavista

A hut located at the summit of Pico del Teide on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Booking accommodation used to be necessary in advance (even a month or more), and upon arrival, guests received a bed with disposable bedding, which they took to the cable car station. Currently (October 2024), the hut is closed with no known reopening date. According to locals, it has been closed since the COVID pandemic, and it is quite possible that it will never reopen, as the park management is trying to limit the number of visitors.
