The starting point for the famous Schaligrat, a royal scene leading to Weisshorn. Climber's hearts beat faster. A simple, functional bivouac at high altitude without luxury in one of the most exclusive places in the Alps, here you definitely belong among your own kind or are alone. Due to significant melting of snow and ice, access from the east (Weisshornhütte) and access from the west (Cabane d'Arpitetta) is not always possible. The usual approach is to traverse the Schalihorn from Rothornhütte, which is difficult and long.
The bivouac was built in 1963. It offers 8 beds and a simple, functional interior with utensils.
