About chalet Guggihütte

A simple, rarely visited alpine hut on the jagged northern side of Mönch and Jungfraujoch, with views over the foothills of the Bernese Alps and Mittelland to Chasseral. It is located on a rocky outcrop and serves as a starting point for the ascent of Mönch via Nollen or Jungfrau via Silberhorn, two classic hikes. In summer, the access trail is intended only for experienced mountain hikers, and in winter, due to snow and ice, it is for very experienced ones.
The hut is open year-round and is staffed by a club member on weekends from early/mid-June to the end of September. Drinks are available, but food cannot be purchased. Pans, cutlery, dishes, a wood stove, and firewood for cooking are provided.
The ascent for experienced climbers in summer from Kleiner Scheidegg takes about 3.5 hours and from the Eigergletscher station about 3 hours.
