About chalet Baltschiederklause
Švýcarsko
A classic SAC hut nestled deep in the romantic and wild Baltschieder Valley, in the southwestern part of the UNESCO World Heritage site Jungfrau-Aletsch. It serves as a starting point for high-altitude and climbing tours ranging from easy to very difficult. The most famous peak is Bietschorn, which can be ascended via various routes.
Access to Baltschiederklause, with a 6 to 7-hour hike, is one of the longest approaches to a hut in Switzerland, but also one of the most beautiful and diverse. Along the way to Baltschiederklause, nature and mountain lovers are surrounded by muddy water bisses, magnificent forests, alpine meadows rich in flowers, and at the top, a wild alpine landscape with moraines beneath glaciers and rocky peaks.
In the lower part, the trail runs alongside the famous bisses or irrigation channels. For hikers prone to vertigo, there is an alternative 1.6 km long tunnel. Don't forget to bring a lamp!
Capacity of 71 beds, winter room 12 beds.
