Hollandiahütte is located to the north above Lötschenlücke on a ridge. It is owned by the SAC Bern section. Built in 1907 under very adverse conditions, the hut must withstand high wind speeds and significant temperature differences, resulting in correspondingly high maintenance costs.
In both summer and winter, all access routes to the Hollandia hut traverse glaciated high mountain terrain. Proper equipment (rope material, ice axe, crampons, etc.) and sufficient knowledge are essential requirements.
Summer approaches:
From Jungfraujoch: 6 h, ascent 510 m, descent 750 m
From Fafleralp in Lötschental: 6 h, ascent 1450 m
Winter approaches:
From Jungfraujoch via Konkordiaplatz: 3.5 - 4 h, ascent 510 m, descent 740 m
From Jungfraujoch via Louwitor: 4 - 4.5 h, ascent 750 m, descent 960 m
From Blatten: 6 - 6.5 h, ascent 1720 m, descent 1720 m
The hut has 75 beds in large bright rooms. There are an additional 20 beds in the winter room. All beds are equipped with blankets. Your own silk sleeping bag and pillowcase are mandatory. The winter room has 20 beds and cooking facilities (wood stove).
The hut operates with solar panels. Unfortunately, it is not possible to charge mobile phones and other electronic devices. Make sure you are sufficiently charged or bring a power bank!
