Geraer Hütte (2,324 meters above sea level) located at the end of the Valser Valley is recommended as a base for hikes along the main ridge of Tux in the Zillertal Alps.
At the mountain hut, high-altitude hikers will find a great deal of hospitality, good cuisine, rustic and local alpine knowledge, and tips from the hut keeper. Another interesting destination is the former molybdenum mine, which can be reached via an easy path. The hut is open approximately from mid-June to the end of September and is easily accessible from three directions - from the Schmirn Valley, Valser, and Zillertal.
