The Refuge du Goûter, located at an altitude of 3,835 meters, is one of the most popular starting points for climbers attempting to reach the summit of Mont Blanc. It is the highest mountain hut in France.
Two years of work and 6 million euros were dedicated to creating the new Gouter hut, which aims to be a pioneering mountain refuge, not only in terms of its architecture but also regarding access to sustainable energy and environmental considerations.

The new Refuge du Gouter can accommodate 120 climbers who will benefit from solar and wind power, triple glazing, recycled water, and many other eco-friendly features.

This is a modern hut in terms of its access and design, fully aligned with other global initiatives that encourage mountain lovers to think responsibly and minimize their environmental impact whenever possible.

The hut offers accommodation with half board, bed and breakfast, or bed-only options; for those who bring their own food, a picnic room is available, but there are no cooking facilities. Vegetarian meals are available upon request, but please inform them in advance of your arrival.

The hut is open and staffed from mid-May to the end of September, depending on weather conditions. Out of season, the hut is unstaffed, but beds and blankets are available for 20 people.
