About chalet Ostegg Hütte

An unguarded hut owned by the Grindelwald Guides Company, it was officially opened in 1998 to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.
The hut is very comfortable and well-equipped. There are 15 beds with blankets, a gas stove, a wood-burning stove, cutlery, and drinks.

A unique feature of this hut is that the key to the front door is in a small "safe" located in the restroom. The code to open the "safe" is available at grindelwaldSPORTS (+41 33 854 12 80). Opening the safe itself requires a bit of patience :-)
Overnight stay: 30.00 CHF per person per night.
Payment can be made in a cash box or there are payment checks available in the hut.
Access:
After taking the cogwheel train to the Alpiglen station, you will follow the hiking trail "Eiger Trail". At the junction, you will pass under the rocky outcrop and then climb up a grassy ramp. Once you reach Grassattelu, you will traverse a scree slope and arrive at the rocks where the entrance to the via ferrata is located. After completing it, you will reach the beautifully situated Ostegg hut.
