About chalet Konkordiahütte

Švýcarsko Švýcarsko

Konkordiahütte is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable mountain accommodations. With 155 beds, it is the largest hut in the Swiss Alpine Club and, despite its remoteness, it leads in overnight stays every year.
Its location on the edge of the largest Alpine glacier, with a stunning view of the vast Northern Ice Ocean, lined with famous peaks along its shores, provides ample reasons to visit this mystical place.
If you want to experience the largest and longest Alpine glacier in all its glory, you will find what you seek at Konkordiahütte. Once just a few meters above the glacier's edge, it now towers about 150 meters above Konkordiaplatz, an area of about 6 square kilometers of glacial ice where four glacier arms converge to form the Great Aletsch Glacier. There are dimensions and distances that you must first get used to! Jungfraujoch to the north, Lötschenlücke to the west, and Eggishorn to the south are more than 8 km away. Climbers and hikers on the glaciers moving on the Aletsch Glacier look no bigger than a grain of sand on the beach. Anyone wishing to visit the Konkordia hut will have to deal with the glacier, its beauties, dangers, and size.
