Vrchol Gasherbrum IV was added here by Bouřka.
17th highest peak in the world, part of the Gasherbrum group. The first ascent was made in 1958 by Italians Walter Bonatti and Carlo Mauri. In 1985, Wojciech Kurtyka and Robert Schauer ascended the steep western face in 11 days in alpine style, and although they did not reach the summit due to extreme exhaustion (3 days without food, 2 days without water) and bad weather, it is considered one of the greatest achievements in high-altitude mountaineering of all time.
